The last 3 years have been remarkable for elbow. Whilst having always been respected for their music (the only band in NME history to have been awarded 4 consecutive 9/10 album reviews), elbow are now firmly established as oneBritain's biggest bands and quite deservedly being heralded as 'national treasures'. They've soundtracked World Cups and Olympics, and won award after award: Mercury Music Album Of The Year, 2 Ivor Novellos, Best British Band at the Brits, a South Bank Show award and 'Outstanding Contribution to British Music' at the 2009 NME Awards. elbow's recent success is testament to great songwriting and an uncompromising determination.
